My name is Anna Elizabeth Rea. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 3 years now, and we have two dogs and a sweet baby boy on the way. I graduated with a Bachelors in Fine Arts in 2015. I have had a huge passion for art since the first time I was able to write with a pencil. I was very introverted and shy as a child, and art was a way that I could express myself and my feelings. It has continued to be a voice for me.
When I entered college, I knew I wanted to study art and soak in all that I could. I took many different courses in different areas of art, and fell in love with drawing. My favorite medium to work with is charcoal. Charcoal is made from nature, which couples with my love for nature. My work is very detail-oriented, and I tend to work in one area of a drawing at a time.
A few artists who have inspired me are Salvador Dali, Norman Rockwell, and Grant Wood. Dali’s Persistence of Memory sparked my interest in surrealism. I really enjoy using juxtaposition in my work. Much of my previous work is more surreal. Numerous paintings by Norman Rockwell and Grant Wood have inspired me to draw more from life. My current work consists mainly of portraits.
I strive to create art that people can connect with. I want to create art that will help people escape from the repetitive routines of life, evoke special memories that people may have, help give people hope in overcoming problems they may have, and inspire people to pursue their own dreams. God has given everyone a talent, and I hope my art inspires you to find yours and use it for God's Glory.
